Hall effect sensors replace potentiometers directly without any changes. They are non contact unlike potentiometers and have a 10,000,000 cycle factory rating. In theory in our application they should not need to be replaced. These are standard in all of our new 270 degree steering units and all new pedal units and can be used to upgrade our older model pedal and steering units that were equipped with potentiometers as long as they are direct USB models. They cannot be used in old gameport models or units using a Rockfire USB adapter as these use 2 wire potentiometers. To purchase click on picture
This ball bearing Hall effect sensor assembly can replace the bushing steering Hall effect sensor or potentiometer in any TSW2 or Evolution steering unit. Unit must have internal USB circuit board or have been upgraded with an internal USB upgrade or external USB upgrade kit. It will not work in older TSW models. It includes the plastic mounting bracket and it has a 1/8" shaft with a 3/8" adapter sleeve to fit into the standard rubber steering shaft coupler used on these units. This is only needed for dirt track racing where the steering wheel is turned much more and faster than when driving on asphalt especially by a novice driver a bushing sensor or potentiometer can overheat and the bushing can seize. This box is for using any analog USB TSW pedal unit with other manufacturers steering units. The sim you are using must support multiple controllers. Will not work with digital pedals with optical encoders. This unit is needed to convert a TSW pedal unit that you already have. If you are purchasing a new pedal unit you have the option of ordering it either with the pedal control box or with an internal USB circuit board for direct USB connection.

Gameport technology is obsolete now. You will have difficulty finding a computer with a gameport, and even so, often times there are calibration issues with modern Windows versions. We offer this upgrade kit as a solution to convert an older model controller designed to connect via the 15 pin gameport to the latest analog USB electronics.
This is the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) version of the internal upgrade. While this uses the same circuit board as our latest analog controllers, for this kit the circuit board is housed in an external box that connects to your steering controller with the 15 pin cable. This is the only way we offer the upgrade for DIY installation because it is the only way it can be made easy for the average user to install. The kit comes with 3 Hall effect sensors if you have a clutch pedal you will need to purchase an additional Hall effect sensor.
.
Installation of this kit is made easy as possible, no soldering is required and full step-by-step instructions with pictures is included with the kit. However this is not simply a converter, some rewiring of your controller is needed, including replacement of the pots, a new pedal wiring harness, and some simple rewiring in the steering controller.
Not every TSW controller is compatible with the DIY upgrade kit. It is best to call or email us before purchasing this kit . Click on picture to order.
Gameport technology is obsolete now. You will have difficulty finding a computer with a gameport, and even so, often times there are calibration issues with modern Windows versions. We offer this upgrade service as a solution to convert any gameport controller to the latest analog USB electronics.
We offer a DIY upgrade option as well, but many people prefer to have the circuit board installed internally to avoid the extra box, or would rather it be installed professionally. The added advantage of sending the controller in for upgrading is that we also go over the controller and will tune it up and even do some updating when necessary with certain aspects of the controller which have been significantly improved. Turn-around time for this service varies, usually in the neighborhood of 1 to 2 weeks plus shipping time. Check with us before shipping the controller for the best estimate.
This service includes three Hall effect sensors. If your controller has a clutch pedal, a 4th Hall effect sensor will be needed.

Replacement 10 bit analog circuit board. Replaces older 8 bit analog circuit board for much higher resolution. Replaces TSW 8 bit board directly all plug on connections and mounting holes are the same. This board is programed with the newest version firmware that eliminates the Y axis, Steering is X axis, gas is Z axis brake is X rotation and clutch is Y rotation. This eliminates a problem that has shown up in some computers with Windows 10
